Ten months of I-5 headaches are underway between Everett and Marysville after the state launched a major project to replace several expansion joints.
The Washington State Department of Transportation needs to replace 41 of the 20 to 30-year-old joints on bridges over the Ebey, Steamboat and Union sloughs. WSDOT says the joints are cracked and have broken or missing seals and bolts.
