Crews from Archer Western lay gravel bedding for a new concrete box culvert that will replace a failing metal drainage tunnel on Barron’s Branch in downtown Waco.
The $3.9 million project began in May and is expected to wrap up in November.
Crews this week were rerouting water transmission lines so they could remove the middle segment of the old tunnel.
A section under the Indian Spring Middle School track has already been replaced.
