Accella Performance Materials Inc., of Maryland Heights, said today it has acquired two related producers of polyurethanes, plastisols and recycled rubber items.

RTH Processing Inc. and RDT Manufacturing LLC are combined to form Ultimate RB Inc., Accella said. Both companies operate at a factory in Delphos, Ohio.

Terms of the transactions were not released.

Accella said RTH is the largest U.S. producer of colored rubber granules used in playground surfacing, running tracks and other rubber products. RDT is a maker of rolled rubber products, including athletic flooring, commercial flooring, acoustical underlayment and load containment matting, Accella said.

Andy Harris, Accella's chief executive, said in a statement the combination of RTH Processing and RTD Manufacturing provides Accella the ability to offer all components of playground surfacing and running tracks.

Ted Horstman, president of RTH and RDT said, the merger of rubber companies benefits customers globally and allows product offerings to new markets.

Formerly Dash Multi-Corp, Accella is a maker of custom formulated polyurethane systems, specialty vinyl plastisols and recycled rubber products. It has 10 factories in the United States, one in the United Kingdom and one in China.
